How can a dermal filler enhance my appearance?
While dermal fillers are casually known as “wrinkle fillers”, they can do much more than just smooth out wrinkles. Here are a few of the common issues dermal fillers can help address:
-
- Smooth out lines around nose and mouth (a.k.a. Marionette or puppet lines, smiles lines, and parentheses)
- Enhance and restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples or hollows below the eyes
- Diminish vertical lip lines
- Plump and enhance the lips
- Define the jawline
- Augment a small chin
- Improve facial symmetry
Do dermal fillers make you look younger and more refreshed?
Yes, dermal fillers can make you look younger by improving common signs of aging. Dermal fillers in Mississauga can improve volume loss, lines and folds which results in a refreshed youthful appearance.

Which filler do I need?
Each filler is uniquely formulated to have a certain density, texture, and injection depth. This means certain fillers work better for certain areas of concern. I have been injecting dermal fillers for over 20 years! I will select the right product to help you achieve natural results.
What to expect during your filler treatment
It starts with a conversation. I will discuss your area of concern and may direct you to focus on a different area to achieve the best results. I will review your medications, allergies, and medical history. Pre-treatment photographs are taken.
The skin is cleaned, and you may be given a topical anesthetic to numb the area prior to injections. Most of the fillers I use contain lidocaine, an anesthetic that helps to minimize discomfort before and after treatment. I will inject a precise amount of filler strategically below the skin. You will notice results immediately after your filler injections. Redness and swelling is usually mild and temporary; bruising is possible as with any injection treatment. I will remind you to avoid extreme heat (eg. sauna, steam room, hot yoga) and strenuous exercise for a day to avoid swelling. Otherwise, you may go back to your normal activities.
How long do dermal fillers last?
This depends on the product used, the area of treatment, and you. Generally the denser the filler is and the more deeply it is injected (think cheek volume filler), the longer it is expected to last. Each of us metabolizes hyaluronic acid differently, so there is no hard and fast rule. On average 6 – 18 months after your filler injection, you will require repeat treatment to maintain your results.
Are dermal fillers safe?
Yes! Dermal fillers in Mississauga use biocompatible hyaluronic acid, which is a sugar molecule that is naturally occurring in your skin. These fillers are not sourced from animals and are manufactured in a lab.
Your results are only as good as the hands that inject you! Choosing the right injector is the most important aspect to achieve the results you want. As a board-certified dermatologist, I have the knowledge of anatomy and technique to achieve a natural transformation that respects your facial proportions and rejuvenation goals. If you are searching for the best dermal fillers in Toronto, Oakville, Burlington, Etobicoke, or the GTA, I can help you achieve a naturally enhanced look.
How much does a dermal filler cost?
The cost of dermal filler depends on:
-
- The type of filler used
- The amount of filler used
- The area of injection
I will create a comprehensive aging plan, customized to your goals and budget.
Who is a candidate for dermal fillers?
Most patients are candidates for dermal fillers, due to their safety and effectiveness. Whether you are female or male, in your 20s or your 70s, dermal fillers can be used to enhance your facial features and proportions.
What is the biggest obstacle to getting filler treatment?
FEAR. Fear of looking fake, or alien. And we have all seen celebrity examples of filler gone wrong. When I expertly inject dermal fillers, the results are natural and subtle. My goal is to help you achieve the best version of yourself.
