Lax skin and sagging skin
Are you a sagger?
As we age, the skin loses its turgor and descends or falls due to the effects of gravity. Sagging is most often noticed in the 50’s and beyond. Sagging is worsened if the skin has had excessive sun exposure and from smoking.
There appears to be a genetic component to sagging as well. The cheeks, jowls, jawline and neck are most often affected by skin laxity.
What we can do
If your sagging is mild, or you are not a candidate for surgical lifting, we can help. We offer radiofrequency therapy to stimulate tightening of the skin. This “lunch time” procedure, feels like a hot stone massage.
A series of 6 treatments, usually two weeks apart, is recommended. Because we continue to age – and sag – we recommend one treatment every 3 months for maintenance.
